Executive masterclass: Leading anchor organisations

Online.

As the NHS moves towards neighbourhood health, prevention and reducing health inequalities, leaders have an opportunity to create impact beyond the services they provide.

This virtual masterclass explores how NHS organisations can act as anchor organisations by using their influence, workforce, procurement, estates and partnerships to improve health and economic outcomes within local communities.

Through practical examples, peer discussion and structured reflection, participants will explore how anchor approaches can support population health improvement, strengthen communities and help deliver key NHS priorities. Delegates will assess their current practice, identify opportunities for greater impact and develop actions to apply within their own organisation or system.

The session will cover:

  • What it means to be an anchor organisation and why it matters for NHS leaders.
  • How anchor approaches support neighbourhood health, population health and reducing inequalities.
  • The key anchor strategies organisations can use to create local impact and effect change.
  • Self-assessment activities to identify strengths and opportunities for development.
  • Group discussion and reflection on applying anchor principles in practice.
  • The development of an action plan to take away and apply the learning, and an anchor playbook to take away with resources to further the learning after the webinar.
