Coaching Essentials – Network Learning Event
We are delighted to welcome the return of our coaching and mentoring network learning events!
On Thursday 29th June, we came together for our first Network Learning Event (NLE) of 2023/24 in Cheshire and Merseyside at Haydock Park Racecourse.
The event welcomed over 50 coaches and mentors, along with coaches, mentees as well as those leading the coaching agenda within organisations, for an interactive day of CPD to enhance knowledge, skills, effectiveness and overall practice.
The network learning events also provide dedicated space for networking with peers and engaging with a supportive network of likeminded individuals to share best practice across the region. This can help influence the current and future agenda both the locality and organisations and support the development of a coaching and mentoring culture across the North West.
The day was opened by Dawn Nisbet, who welcomed attendees and shared more on what’s to come in our NWLA coaching journey.
“The passion and engagement in the room could be felt from the moment people started to arrive. You could see colleagues who hadn’t connected in person for quite some time and the excitement to come together again and plan what great looks like for coaching and mentoring in the region. It was a pleasure to be a part of and I left feeling excited and inspired for what is yet to come.”
Dawn Nisbet, Senior Associate Director, NHS NWLA
Dawn then handed over to Becci Martin, Boo Coaching and Consulting, for the plenary session on celebrating coaching achievements. During this session, we also heard inspiring stories on the positive impact mentors/mentees and coaches/coachees have on individual leadership development journeys.
Throughout the day, attendees had the option of attending a series of workshops including: Coming back to Coaching; Conversation Tools; Coaching for Meaning and Purpose; and Restorative Practice. The sessions allowed participants to refresh their skills and add more tools and techniques to their toolboxes.
“Thank you for the superb network event. It was great to link in with peers across the region and there was so much learning and great practice and principles to take away from the event.”

Attendees took lots away from the day, and we were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout, and we look forward to hosting our upcoming NLE’s for the coaching and mentoring communities in Greater Manchester and Lancashire and South Cumbria.
“I am so glad that I (attended the event) it was very restorative and useful. 😊“
