In 2021 the NHS NWLA and NHS Confederation were commissioned by the Lancashire and South Cumbria Primary Care Network (PCN) Development Oversight – Group to provide a safe space in which primary care leaders could collectively explore their vision for the role of PCNs in the developing system.
This paper explores the role of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the health and care system, and in the context of the emerging Integrated Care Systems/Partnerships (ICS/ICP). It offers insights and recommendations for exploration and action, based on working over a period of several months with PCNs and with Clinical Directors (CDs) in five places across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
