Understanding and Working with Power
Overview
The purpose of this session is to explore the dynamics of power in systems and how to work with and use power effectively and compassionately. It will focus on how you can devolve and share authority and power in order to maximise system integration and leadership.
What will the session cover?
- An inquiry into power as leaders in health and care systems. Where is power, who has it? What do we mean by power? What is our own relationship to power?
- Aspects of power and inequality: how can we use our understanding of power to build greater equality into our health and care system?
- Application of Learning: Power mapping, exploring types of power and strategies for power-sharing in relation to specific issues.
