Hosting a Trainee

Hosting a trainee is a way to bring new thinking and a fresh perspective to your organisation.

Hosting a Trainee

While the North West system is facing a period of significant change and new challenges, bringing in a graduate trainee can help fuel innovation and problem-solving, helping you find more efficient ways to improve patient care and outcomes. Trainees are also part of a vital talent pipeline for our region, helping us effectively develop our future leaders.

To provide high quality placements for trainees on the GMTS, organisations are encouraged to take a collaborative and system-focussed approach, with a lead host organisation leading on the submission of information on behalf of a partnership or collaborative. A partnership of organisations may submit a joint bid to offer a graduate exposure to the wider system.

Host organisations will be supported by the regional GMTS team in developing their placement and preparing to host a trainee:

  • Information sessions
  • Programme and Placement Manager training
  • Resources and FAQs
