Executive Coaching

Research and evaluation tell us that coaching, if made available at the right time, can be the most effective development intervention for senior leaders.

For that reason, and in response to the complex environment our senior leaders are operating in, NHS NWLA continue to make their Executive Coaching support offer available to members.

Up to four board members can access three funded sessions of coaching via the Executive Coaching register. Should a leadership need be identified from the organisation’s talent pool, a senior leader can be nominated to utilise your remaining places.

Coaching is a way of using questioning and inquiry to help leaders unlock their full potential to achieve personal and professional success. Our coaching offer gives a confidential space that enables individuals to focus on what’s important to them as a senior leader.

Accessing a coach provides an opportunity to:

  • have some dedicated thinking time regarding your leadership journey or challenges
  • explore and find solutions to wicked leadership issues
  • allow space to challenge thinking and formulate solutions
  • increase levels of confidence as a leader

How do I access this offer?

A number of Quality Assured External Executive coach profiles will then be shared with you to decide who to take this offer forward with. Arrangements for supporting this activity are via a Learning Agreement, this will be shared with you on confirmation.

Our coaching team will be able to support with any queries regarding access and eligibility.

Quote / Testimonial:

The coaching helped me to achieve a good work life balance – which I feel is essential in the current NHS. I have used tools and techniques that I was introduced to in my everyday practice. I am also utilising the tools to support my team through an organisation change process.

If you are not a Board member, coaching is available to all our member organisations via the Coaching Hub.
