DESCRIPTION:This is a two-part session\nSession 1 – 13th July 9am – 12pm \nSession 2 – 20th July 9am – 12pm \nOverview:\nWith the current changes in the health and social care landscape it is now more important than ever to build effective working relationships with all different styles of individuals and address things that might prevent that. At the heart of these relationships are conversations; some of which can feel challenging and uncomfortable. In these situations\, we may at times need to adopt styles or approaches which might not come naturally to us. \nWhat will the session cover:\nThis module will apply sound psychological theory and practices to make a real difference in personal performance in challenging communications. SUMMARY:Collaborative Masterclass - All Together Fairer in 2023: A Marmot approach to reducing Health Inequalities
DESCRIPTION:About the Event\nIn this session we will explore how the North West is rising to the challenges of Health Inequalities. There will be a focus on the Cheshire and Merseyside Marmot programme\, what progress has been made alongside learning for the future. In particular\, where shifting resources might help and how leaders should resist attention being drawn to short term fixes. We will be joined by guest speaker Alan Higgins. \nSpeakers\nAlan Higgins\nPublic health professional\, Co Lead Health Equity Network\, committed to action on social determinants of health. \nAn expert in health and wellbeing\, Alan has extensive experience working as an independent consultant in public health and as a Director of Public Health. He was Director of Public Health\nin Oldham from 2002 to 2018\, leading the transition of public health from the NHS into local government and in the development of the Greater Manchester devolved public health\nprogramme. \nWorking as an independent expert on public health\, he has achieved credibility in the fields of inclusive economic development and health and in systems leadership. Alan is focused on\nworking across whole systems\, applying understanding of complexity and systems leadership into strategic analysis and strategy implementation that emphasises the ability to seize\nopportunities. \nHe is a confident speaker and writer with extensive knowledge of the UK health and social care system and executive management experience.
